Bangladesh wins bronze, youth talk title at International Economics Olympiad
Bangladesh achieved notable success at the 9th International Economics Olympiad 2026 in Shenzhen, China, securing a bronze medal and claiming the inaugural IEO Youth Talk title.
Mastermind English Medium School Dhanmondi branch student Farabeed Bin Faisal won the bronze medal. In contrast, Manarat Dhaka International School and College Gulshan branch student Jaif Bin Morshed was crowned global champion in the IEO Youth Talk.
Jaif secured first place in the new competition, which assesses participants' communication, critical thinking, and leadership skills.

The Bangladesh Economics Olympiad also received a Special International Recognition Award for its contributions to economics education, international participation, and consistent performance.
Students from 57 countries participated in the olympiad, competing across economics, finance, and business case categories.
