Cristiano Ronaldo scored twice in Portugal's 5–0 victory over Uzbekistan on 23 June 2026, becoming the second‑oldest goalscorer in Fifa World Cup history and surpassing former teammate Pepe's mark. The Portuguese captain also set another milestone: the only player to score in all six World Cups, and one of just two to appear in six consecutive editions of the tournament.
