BanglayShikhi to Organize Future Data Analyst Challenge 2026 at MBSTU for Early-Year Students
Banglayshikhi will host an interdepartmental data analytics competition tomorrow in Mawlana Bhashani Science and technology University, with more than 100 undergraduate students from various departments taking part.
The non-profit educational initiative BanglayShikhi will organise the "CEGIS Presents Future Data Analyst Challenge 2026" from 4pm to 8pm at Academic Building 3 on the university's Santosh campus in Tangail.
The competition is open exclusively to first-year and second-year undergraduate students from MBSTU departments. Participants will analyse real-world business problems using Python and conduct exploratory data analysis, data visualisation and insight generation.
Participants will use widely adopted programming libraries, including Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib and Seaborn. The event aims to foster analytical thinking, practical programming and data-driven decision-making skills among early-year students.
The event will also feature two seminars for final-year undergraduate and master's students.
CHS Education will conduct a higher-studies seminar covering international education opportunities, scholarships, IELTS preparation, and university admissions guidance.
The Centre for Environmental and Geographic Information Services will hold a research seminar on the applications of geographic information system data and geospatial technologies in research, environmental management, and evidence-based decision-making.
Eligible final-year and master's students attending the higher studies seminar may receive IELTS preparation coupons worth a combined Tk32,000 and university admission support coupons worth a combined $1,000. The offers are subject to CHS Education's eligibility requirements and policies.
Faculty members, researchers, industry representatives and invited guests are also expected to attend. Invitations have been extended to university administrators, faculty members and representatives of the Centre for Environmental and Geographic Information Services and CHS Education.
BanglayShikhi was founded by Md Rashidul Islam Rifat, a student in the Department of Statistics at Mawlana Bhashani Science and Technology University. The initiative produces free Bengali-language educational resources and organises workshops, seminars, competitions and career-development programmes covering data science, statistics, programming, artificial intelligence and research.
Md Rashidul Islam Rifat leads the event's core organising team. Other committee members include Md Shehab Uddin Ikhtiyer, Director of Partnerships and Sponsorships; Md Onthor, Director of Operations; Foysal Rahman Ovi, Director of Marketing and Communications; Farjana Yesmin, Director of Community Development; Tasnia Rahman Shefa, Director of Campus Relations; Mysha Hossain Niha, Director of Public Relations and Outreach; and Zakaria Mahmud Sowrov, Director of Programmes and Competitions.
The Centre for Environmental and Geographic Information Services is the title sponsor, while CHS Education is the co-sponsor.

BanglayShikhi said the event aims to promote data literacy, research, innovation, and career preparedness, while strengthening collaboration between academia and industry.
