BRAC Bank trains 90 women entrepreneurs in three districts
BRAC Bank, in collaboration with Bangladesh Open Source Network, has empowered 90 women entrepreneurs in Brahmanbaria, Habiganj, and Moulvibazar through its flagship women entrepreneurship development initiative, Amrai TARA.
The three-day training sessions were conducted throughout May, with 30 women entrepreneurs participating in each cohort.
Amrai TARA, supported by the Gates Foundation, is designed to strengthen the entrepreneurial capabilities of women across Bangladesh through practical training, mentorship, networking, and market access opportunities.
The programme focuses on long-term economic empowerment by equipping women entrepreneurs with the knowledge, confidence, and tools needed to scale their businesses and deepen their economic impact within their communities.
The training covered key areas of enterprise development, including business planning, financial management, digital literacy, branding, marketing, and customer engagement.
Participants engaged with peers and resource persons, gaining practical insights and building networks to support sustained business growth.

In Habiganj, Muhammad Rukan Uddin, Territory Manager, Cottage, Micro and Small Business, SME Division of BRAC Bank, engaged with participants.
In Moulvibazar, Gautam Debnath, Territory Manager, Cottage, Micro and Small Business, SME Division of BRAC Bank, interacted with the entrepreneurs and emphasised the importance of structured entrepreneurial support at the local level.
BRAC Bank officials reaffirmed their commitment to advancing women's economic participation and inclusive growth through targeted entrepreneurship initiatives.
They stated that stronger women-led enterprises create a multiplier effect by generating employment, boosting productivity, and driving local prosperity.
BRAC Bank stated that, through initiatives such as Amrai TARA, it continues to invest in the potential of women entrepreneurs across Bangladesh, helping them build sustainable enterprises and contribute to inclusive economic growth.
