Jamuna Bank launches entrepreneurship training in Pabna
Jamuna Bank PLC has inaugurated a month-long entrepreneurship development training programme in Pabna to help new and existing entrepreneurs strengthen business skills and access formal financial services.
The training, titled "Entrepreneurship Development", was inaugurated at BRAC Learning Centre in Gachhpara, Pabna, under the Skills for Industry Competitiveness and Innovation Program, funded by the Asian Development Bank, managed by the Finance Division of the Ministry of Finance and supervised by the SME and Special Programs Department of Bangladesh Bank.
The 100-hour training programme was initiated by Jamuna Bank PLC to enhance entrepreneurs' capacity through practical business knowledge, skills development support and access to necessary financial facilities.
The inaugural ceremony was presided over by Nur Mohammed, Deputy Managing Director of Jamuna Bank PLC.
Professor Dr Md Amirul Islam of the Department of Business Administration at Pabna University of Science and Technology attended as the chief guest and formally inaugurated the programme.
Md Ayub Ali, Joint Director and Deputy Project Director of SME and Special Programs Department, Bangladesh Bank Head Office; Fazlul Haque, Zonal Head of Rajshahi Region at Jamuna Bank PLC; and NHM Nusrat, Head of SME Marketing at Jamuna Bank PLC, attended as special guests.
The initiative, implemented under the Skills for Industry Competitiveness and Innovation Program with support from the Asian Development Bank and the Finance Division of the Ministry of Finance, aims to strengthen entrepreneurial capability through structured training and facilitate access to credit support for business growth.
Through the programme, participants will receive essential knowledge, skills and motivation required for effective business management, enabling them to access formal banking services and contribute to sustainable economic development.
Senior officials from Bangladesh Bank and Jamuna Bank PLC, along with promising entrepreneurs from Pabna, attended the inaugural ceremony.
The guests expressed optimism that the initiative would help enhance the capacity of local entrepreneurs and expand financial inclusion across the region.
