The detainees include two men, three women, and five children.
Members of the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) have detained 10 people, including women and children, this morning (31 May), for allegedly entering Bangladesh illegally from India through the border in Chuadanga.
Lieutenant Colonel Nazmul Hasan, director of BGB-6 Chuadanga, said the identities of the detained individuals are currently being verified, and interrogations are ongoing.
Members of the BGB's Baradi camp detained the individuals at around 5am today while performing border duties inside Bangladesh territory. The detainees include two men, three women, and five children.
Nazmul Hasan also said that, following primary legal procedures, the detainees will be handed over to the Darshana Police Station.
A case will also be filed against them under the relevant laws for illegally crossing the border, he added.
The BGB official noted that operations to prevent illegal border crossings and unauthorised movement across the frontier are continuing.
