US-Iran face off again after ceasefire breaks down
The United States has launched its biggest military strike on Iran since a ceasefire in April, blaming it for attacks on three commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz. It struck more than 80 targets in southern Iran. In response, Iran has claimed missile and drone attacks on US bases in Bahrain and Kuwait. Both countries have accused each other of violating a memorandum of understanding, raising the prospect of another major conflict in the Middle East.
