Dino Zoff remains the oldest captain to lift the Fifa World Cup, leading Italy to a 3-1 victory over West Germany in the 1982 final. He is also the only Italian player to have won both the European Championship (1968) and the Fifa World Cup (1982), and set a world record of 1,142 consecutive minutes without conceding for Italy between 1972 and 1974. In contrast, Daniel Passarella remains the youngest captain to lift Argentina's first World Cup trophy in 1978 at just 25 years and 30 days.
