Heritage Intercontinental: Something for everyone
A polished setting, attentive service and a menu spanning Asian fusion favourites make Heritage Intercontinental an inviting addition to Dhanmondi's dining scene, with its tender T-bone steak emerging as the standout dish
Stepping into Heritage Intercontinental from the busy streets of Dhanmondi feels like entering a calmer, more carefully composed part of the city. Warm golden light falls across a predominantly white interior, creating a space that is bright, elegant and welcoming without becoming too formal.
The restaurant presents itself as a refined destination for authentic Asian fusion cuisine, where familiar dishes are served with influences from different culinary traditions. The setting reflects that ambition. It is clean, comfortable and aesthetically arranged, making it suitable for family dinners, business meetings, birthday celebrations and casual gatherings.
The staff were helpful throughout the visit, and the food arrived on time. This may sound like a basic expectation, but prompt and attentive service remains an important part of any dining experience, particularly when several dishes are being ordered and shared.
Chicken Alfredo Pasta
The meal began with the Chicken Alfredo Pasta; it arrived coated in a thick, creamy sauce, carrying a distinct aroma and flavour of black pepper. The sauce had a slightly sweet quality, which gave the dish a softer flavour than a traditionally savoury Alfredo.
The chicken was cooked well, with a crisp exterior that contrasted nicely with the creamy pasta. It remained properly cooked inside and added substance to the dish. There was also a handsome amount of mushrooms, providing an earthy flavour and a pleasant change in texture.
Diners who enjoy creamy pasta are likely to appreciate its generous coating and comforting character, although those who prefer a sharper or more savoury Alfredo may notice the sweetness.

T-bone Steak
The second item, and easily the highlight of the meal, was the T-bone Steak. It was the most impressive dish on the table.
The steak was cooked exceptionally well. It was soft, tender and very juicy, while retaining enough chew to make each bite feel substantial. Black pepper and a sprinkling of spices had been added to the surface, adding to the natural flavour of the meat rather than overwhelming it.
Its texture was very enjoyable. The steak remained moist and tender. The seasoning was noticeable without being excessive, and the meat was flavourful enough to be eaten without relying heavily on sauce.
Two dipping accompaniments were served with the steak. However, the steak itself remained the main attraction.
The smashed potato served alongside it was an excellent pairing. Soft and comforting, it absorbed the juices and seasoning from the meat and provided balance to the richness of the steak. The vegetables were also more than a decorative addition. Mushrooms and carrots brought earthiness, sweetness and colour to the plate, making the dish feel complete.

Crispy Chicken Nanban
The next item was the Crispy Chicken Nanban; the chicken had a crunchy exterior and was cooked properly throughout. Inside, the meat was tender, while the topping had been applied generously enough to add flavour without making the coating soggy.
There was no unpleasant smell from the chicken, and the dish tasted fresh and well prepared. It was an enjoyable dish, although the order in which it is eaten matters.
The Chicken Nanban should ideally be tried before the steak. The T-bone has a richer, juicier and more assertive flavour, and eating it first could make the chicken seem less distinctive by comparison.

Beef Bulgogi
The next item was the Beef Bulgogi; it brought a noticeably different character to the table. The dish was slightly spicy, with generous quantities of onion and garlic contributing both aroma and flavour.
Overall, it was a good item, especially for diners who enjoy bold, garlic-forward dishes. But some of the ingredients and flavours felt slightly raw. The elements did not seem to have fully blended, and the onion and garlic occasionally stood apart rather than becoming completely integrated with the beef and sauce.
A little more cooking or time for the ingredients to come together might have produced a rounder and more balanced flavour. The Beef Bulgogi would also be better ordered with an additional rice item. Eaten alone, the spice, onion and garlic can become dominant.

Oreo Milkshake
The final item was the Oreo Milkshake; it was served in a sealed can, giving it a modern and slightly unusual presentation. The container also made the drink convenient to carry or finish later.
The milkshake was thick but remained smooth and easy to drink. It had a rich, creamy consistency and a clear chocolate and Oreo flavour. Importantly, it was not overly sweet.
Its creamy texture and chocolate flavour created the sort of drink that encourages another sip, even after a substantial meal.
