Prime Bank, British Council partner on employee learning, customer benefits
Prime Bank employees will gain access to British Council programmes in communication, leadership and workplace effectiveness, while selected bank customers will receive offers on British Council services under a new partnership.
The agreement was signed recently at Prime Bank's corporate office in Dhaka, according to a press release.
Prime Bank said the partnership forms part of an initiative by its Diversity and Inclusion Committee to provide employees with equitable access to learning, professional growth and development opportunities.
Under the agreement, employees will receive access to selected British Council learning programmes focused on communication, leadership, workplace effectiveness and professional skills.
Prime Bank customers, including members of Women Banking, Neera and Student Banking, will also receive exclusive offers on selected British Council services for young learners and adults.
Faisal Rahman, chief executive officer of Prime Bank PLC, and representatives of the British Council attended the signing ceremony.
Prime Bank officials present included M Nazeem A Choudhury, additional managing director, and Shaila Abedin, senior executive vice-president and head of Diversity and Inclusion, alongside members of the bank's Diversity and Inclusion Committee.
British Council representatives included Robin Clark, chief revenue officer; Zunayed Ahmed, head of Market – Bangladesh, English and Exams; Tahnee Yeasmin, director of business development; and Shehrin Shibly, head of business development – Business and Education.
"Empowering people is one of the most meaningful investments we can make," Faisal Rahman said.
"Through our Diversity and Inclusion initiatives, we are committed to creating an environment where every individual has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive."
He said the partnership would provide employees with internationally recognised learning opportunities while extending selected benefits to customers.
Zunayed Ahmed said the British Council had spent more than 70 years building English-language skills and access to global opportunities in Bangladesh.
"This partnership adds Prime Bank's financial support to that offer, while extending our English and leadership training into their workplace," he said.
"We are delighted to have found a progressive partner like Prime Bank on this journey, and our strategic alliance represents a crucial step forward – the first of many impactful actions we will take together to drive meaningful capacity-building."
Prime Bank said the partnership would support its efforts to strengthen professional development, inclusive growth and a people-focused workplace culture.
