Holiday Inn brings back Bengali-themed food festival
Holiday Inn Dhaka City Centre is bringing back its Bengali-themed buffet festival "Banglar Roshona Bilash 2.0" at Attitude Restaurant from 8 to 12 July 2026, following a strong response to last year's edition.
The five-day festival will showcase authentic Bengali cuisine and elements of rural culture in a Gram Bangla-inspired setting, featuring traditional food, music and entertainment, the hotel said in a press release.
Guests will be welcomed with the hotel's signature Kacha Amer Shorbot, popularly known as Aam Panna. The beverage selection will also include lassi, ghol, beler shorbot, lemon mint and tamarind shorbot.
One of the festival's main highlights will be fresh Padma hilsa, one of Bengal's most treasured delicacies. The buffet will feature a wide range of traditional Bengali dishes prepared with familiar home-style flavours.
The menu will include an extensive bhorta and achar station, along with street-food favourites such as fuchka, chotpoti and jhalmuri, as well as freshly prepared items from live stations.
The main course will feature panta bhat, bhuna khichuri, traditional mutton kacchi, Sonali chicken pulao, shorshe ilish, narikel chingri, duck bhuna, beef kala bhuna, local fish curries, shutki preparations, seasonal vegetables and traditional dal selections.
The dessert selection will include mishti doi, gurer mishti doi, shahi tukra, nawabi shemai, patishapta, traditional pitha, narikel naru, crispy jalebi, kheer, assorted local sweets and malai tea.
Beyond the buffet, the hotel will recreate elements of rural Bengal through a traditional bioscope, a Gram Bangla-themed photo booth, a fortune-telling corner, face painting, and a live Baul performance with ektara.
Holiday Inn Dhaka City Centre General Manager Dipankar De said the response to last year's edition encouraged the hotel to bring the festival back.
"In our busy city lives, we often miss the food, simplicity and cultural warmth of rural Bengal. Through Banglar Roshona Bilash 2.0, we are creating a space where families and friends can enjoy authentic Gram Bangla cuisine, experience rural traditions and celebrate the rich cultural heritage of Bangladesh," he said.
Banglar Roshona Bilash 2.0 will be available from 6:30 pm to 10:30 pm from 8 to 12 July 2026 at Attitude Restaurant.
The buffet is priced at Tk7,777 net, with a special "buy one, get three free" offer on selected bank cards. Terms and conditions will apply.
