IFIC Bank holds Bangla QR campaign in Motijheel
IFIC Bank PLC launched an awareness campaign on Bangla QR at AGB Colony Kacha Bazar in Motijheel, Dhaka, aiming to drive digital payment adoption among merchants and customers.
The event took place today (5 July), under the Bangladesh Bank initiative to build a "Cashless Bangladesh".
IFIC Bank PLC's Bangla QR booth was inaugurated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and balloon release at the market, followed by a rally around the area.
Live demonstrations showcased QR payments, highlighting the ease, speed and security of cashless transactions for merchants and customers.
Syed Mansur Mustafa, Managing Director of IFIC Bank PLC, and Helal Ahmed, Chief of Branch Business and Head of Operations of IFIC Bank PLC, attended the programme.
Mohammad Moin Uddin, Joint Director of the Payment Systems Department of Bangladesh Bank, and Md Jahangir Hossain, Secretary of AGB Colony Kacha Bazar Small Traders Cooperative Society, were also in attendance.
Senior officials of IFIC Bank PLC, local merchants, customers and media representatives participated in the event.
Speakers emphasised that expanding digital payment systems will make the country's economy more transparent, secure and dynamic.
They added that QR-based transactions offer an easy, cost-effective and timely solution for businesses and customers alike.
