200-yard restriction around exam centres as DMP issues five directives ahead of HSC exams
The police further instructed that no vehicles should be parked near exam centres, warning of legal action against violations.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has imposed a 200-yard restriction around all HSC and equivalent exam centres and issued five special directives to ensure smooth conduct of the examinations starting 2 July.
The exams will be held at 309 centres across the capital.
In two separate public notices signed by DMP Commissioner Mosleh Uddin Ahmed today (30 June), police announced a series of restrictions and guidelines to facilitate the examination process.
One notice said entry of the general public will be restricted within 200 yards of all exam centres during examination hours, except for examinees and authorised personnel. The restriction will remain in force throughout the exam period.
To ensure smooth movement of candidates, DMP advised students to leave early for their centres and, when using private transport, to get down at a nearby less congested point instead of directly in front of exam venues.
After exams, candidates have also been asked to walk to nearby locations before boarding vehicles to avoid congestion around centres.
The police further instructed that no vehicles should be parked near exam centres, warning of legal action against violations.
Parents and guardians have been requested not to gather on roads around examination centres, with authorities warning that fines may be imposed under the Road Transport Act for causing traffic disruption.
DMP also urged commuters other than examinees to avoid roads near exam centres between 7:30am and 10am unless absolutely necessary during exam days.
