Unico Hospitals hosts national workshop on critical care nursing
Unico Hospitals PLC convened the National Workshop on Critical Care Nursing 2026 to enhance clinical expertise and practical capabilities among nursing professionals across Bangladesh.
Held under the theme "Advancing Excellence in Critical Care Nursing", the workshop brought together nursing professionals from hospitals across the country.
The event underscored the importance of safe, evidence-based, high-quality care for critically ill patients.
Halima Akhter, Registrar of the Bangladesh Nursing and Midwifery Council, inaugurated the workshop as the chief guest.
Chief of Nursing Service at Unico Hospitals PLC, Elizabeth Jothi, chaired the event, with Chief Executive Officer of Unico Hospitals PLC, Ardra Kurien, serving as chief patron.
Special guests included senior clinicians and nursing leaders from Bangladesh and abroad.
Other clinicians and nursing leaders were also present.
Experts delivered scientific sessions on critical care nursing fundamentals, patient assessment, advanced haemodynamic monitoring, airway and ventilator management, care for mechanically ventilated patients, and intensive care unit crisis management.
Participants received hands-on training in cardiopulmonary resuscitation and defibrillation, crash cart management, endotracheal tube care, suction techniques, mechanical ventilator management and troubleshooting, and pressure ulcer prevention.
A post-workshop test and quiz competition were held, followed by the distribution of certificates and awards to outstanding participants.
Unico Hospitals PLC said the initiative reflects its commitment to advancing nursing excellence, fostering continuous professional development, and strengthening the quality and safety of critical care services in Bangladesh.
