Trust Bank signs agreements with Bangladesh Bank
Trust Bank PLC has signed two agreements with Bangladesh Bank to participate in refinancing schemes to support CMSME clusters and MSMEs across the country.
The agreements were signed at a ceremony held on Monday, 18 May 2026, presided over by Bangladesh Bank Deputy Governor Nurun Nahar, according to a press release.
Ahsan Zaman Chowdhury, Managing Director & CEO of Trust Bank PLC, signed the agreements on behalf of the bank.
Husne Ara Shikha, Executive Director of Bangladesh Bank; Nawshad Mustafa, Director, SME&SPD, Bangladesh Bank; and other senior officials of the central bank were present at the event.
Managing directors and CEOs from 24 banks and five non-banking financial institutions signed the agreements on behalf of their respective organisations.
Under the refinance schemes, Bangladesh Bank has introduced a Tk3,000 crore fund to develop CMSME clusters and a Tk1,500 crore fund to promote the growth of micro, small and medium enterprises across the country.
Entrepreneurs will be able to access financing facilities under the schemes at a concessional interest rate of 7%.
Trust Bank PLC said its participation in the refinance schemes reaffirms its commitment to supporting entrepreneurship development, financial inclusion and sustainable economic growth in Bangladesh.
