itel enters Bangladesh’s consumer electronics market with locally made AC
Smart lifestyle brand itel has entered Bangladesh's consumer electronics market with the launch of its first air conditioner, expanding beyond smartphones and smart devices.
Manufactured locally, the itel DC Inverter Air Conditioner is the first product in the brand's new consumer electronics portfolio and is designed for the cooling and energy-efficiency needs of Bangladeshi households, according to a press release.
The air conditioner uses DC inverter technology to adjust compressor speed automatically according to cooling demand instead of repeatedly switching the compressor on and off.
According to itel, the technology can reduce electricity consumption by up to 70%, maintain consistent cooling and extend the compressor's lifespan.
The model carries a 12-year compressor warranty, a five-year warranty on spare parts and five years of free servicing.
"This air conditioner has been developed by considering local climate conditions, power supply and consumer needs so that reliable, energy-efficient cooling becomes more accessible," said itel Overseas General Manager Donssion.
"We are delighted to expand our consumer electronics business in Bangladesh, a market where we have built a strong presence over the years. Bangladesh is one of our most important strategic markets," he added.
The air conditioner also incorporates Triple Voltage Care technology to protect it against low and high voltage and sudden fluctuations.
Its four-way airflow system is designed to distribute cool air more evenly throughout a room.
The product is available for pre-booking through authorised itel outlets and partner retail channels nationwide, with general market availability expected by late August.
itel has partnered with Carlcare to provide installation, maintenance and technical support through a network of more than 700 service centres across Bangladesh.
Operating in more than 70 emerging markets, itel is a brand under TRANSSION Holdings. In Bangladesh, it offers smartphones, feature phones, accessories and smart devices.
The company plans to expand its consumer electronics portfolio with additional home appliances.
