Minister warns against irregularities in Dhanbari development projects
Faqir Mahbub Anam, Minister for Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology and Minister for Science and Technology, has said the government is committed to the overall development of Dhanbari and Madhupur, with projects in roads, bridges, culverts, educational institutions and religious establishments to be implemented in phases.
He made the remarks while addressing a public rally as the chief guest in Jadunathpur, Dhanbari Upazila, on Friday, 3 July 2026.
The minister said he had been entrusted with the responsibilities of Member of Parliament and minister because of the confidence and support of the people of Dhanbari and Madhupur.
He expressed his determination to repay that trust through sustainable development and improved public services.
Faqir Mahbub Anam said the government had begun development activities shortly after assuming office, and infrastructure development, improved communication networks, and modernisation of educational and religious institutions across the constituency would be carried out gradually.
Emphasising quality and transparency in development projects, the minister said contractors must ensure the highest standards in project implementation.
He said no irregularities or substandard work in projects financed with public funds would be tolerated. He urged local residents to immediately report any irregularities to the authorities concerned.
Referring to the law-and-order situation, Faqir Mahbub Anam said that extortion, land grabbing, drug trafficking, and gambling would not be allowed in Dhanbari and Madhupur.
He said the government maintains a zero-tolerance policy against crime and has instructed law enforcement agencies to remain vigilant.
The minister also stressed the importance of building a society where women, children and all citizens can move freely and live in peace and security.
Faqir Mahbub Anam said the commitments made to the people before the election would be fulfilled in phases.
He called for public cooperation and active participation, saying elected representatives, the administration and citizens must work together to ensure development and good governance.
Earlier, as part of fulfilling his electoral commitments, the minister inaugurated earth-filling work at Dhanbari Nawab Eidgah and the adjacent playground in his constituency.
Local public representatives, officials from different government departments, political leaders, business leaders, distinguished citizens and a large number of local residents attended the programme.
