Measles outbreak: Death toll hits 831 as 3 more children die in 24hrs
79 new laboratory-confirmed measles cases were recorded, bringing the total number of confirmed infections to 15,739
Three more children died from measles and measles-like symptoms in the 24 hours till 8am today (29 July), taking the total death toll from confirmed and suspected cases to 831.
According to data from the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), the latest fatalities pushed the total number of suspected measles deaths to 735, while laboratory-confirmed deaths reached 96.
During the same 24-hour period, some 996 new suspected measles cases were reported across the country, raising the cumulative nationwide tally of suspected infections to 1,26,540.

Meanwhile, 79 new laboratory-confirmed measles cases were recorded, bringing the total number of confirmed infections to 15,739.
The DGHS data further revealed that since 15 March, a total of 1,09,366 patients with suspected measles have been admitted to hospitals across the country.
Of them, some 1,05,198 patients have made a full recovery.
