Turkiye takes ‘historic step’ on energy alliance with Iraq
Turkey and Iraq are set to take a new turn in their relationship, and oil is at the heart of it. Turkey has the potential to receive up to one million barrels of oil per day from Iraq after taking a stake in the Kirkuk oilfield in northern Iraq. President Recep Tayyip Erdogan sees it as a "historic step" in the energy relations between the two countries.
