2 journalists killed in Uttara road crash
According to police and local sources, they were on their way home after watching the world cup semi-final between England and Argentina on a giant outdoor screen.
Two journalists were killed after being struck by a bus during early hours today (16 July) while they were returning home after watching the world cup semi-final match.
The accident took place near the Jasim Uddin bus stop in Sector 3 of Uttara, confirmed Mohammad Khalid Monsur, officer-in-charge of Uttara West Police Station.
The deceased have been identified as Robiul Alam Raju, a journalist of Praner Bangladesh, and Sakibul Hasan, a journalist of Sangbad Diganta. Sakibul served as the finance secretary of the Uttara Press Club, while Robiul was its hospitality secretary.
