Cargo ship missing after collision off Turkey coast
Coast guard vessels and a helicopter are searching for the cargo ship and its 10 crew members off the coast of Istanbul. Authorities say they lost contact after the boat crashed into another ship overnight
Turkish authorities said they lost contact with a cargo vessel after it collided with another ship in the Sea of Marmara, southwest of Istanbul, early Wednesday.
The Turkish-flagged Tugberk Imamoglu was en route to the Black Sea port of Karadenizeregli from Iskenderun when it crashed into the Turkish-flagged Alsu off the Silivri district of Istanbul at around 3 a.m. local time (0000 GMT), the Istanbul governor's office said in a statement.
"It is currently impossible to establish contact with the cargo ship Tugberk Imamoglu and its 10 crew members," the statement said.

Coast guard vessels and a helicopter are scouring the area for the missing ship, the governor's office added.
The statement said that the Alsu, a chemical tanker, did not appear to have been damaged in the collision.
