The International Maritime Organization has launched a major operation to evacuate more than 11,000 sailors stranded in the Strait of Hormuz following a US-Iran memorandum of understanding. While commercial shipping is beginning to resume and international support is growing, hundreds of vessels remain stuck, and disagreements continue over the future of the strategic waterway.
