US Senate confirms Todd Blanche as Attorney General after controversial vote

Todd Blanche has been confirmed as the new U.S. Attorney General in a narrow 50-49 Senate vote. Donald Trump's former personal lawyer faced scrutiny over Justice Department independence, a $1.8 billion "anti-weaponization" fund, a tax-immunity agreement involving Trump and his sons, and Jeffrey Epstein documents. Blanche's written commitments helped secure confirmation as he prepares to lead the Justice Department under the Trump administration.
