According to the Global Peace Index 2026, Bangladesh has been ranked as the fourth most peaceful country in South Asia. Bangladesh is ahead of India, Pakistan and Afghanistan in this list. The Sydney-based research organization Institute for Economics and Peace (IEP) released the 20th edition of the index on June 9. The report was prepared by analyzing data from 163 independent states and territories, covering 99.7 percent of the world's population.
