NBR plans to impose new taxes on bikes, expensive cars
The National Board of Revenue (NBR) is planning to impose a new advance income tax on motorcycles, luxury cars and battery-powered auto-rickshaws. According to the proposal, taxes on high-cc bikes and expensive cars may increase, and battery-powered rickshaws may also be brought under the tax for the first time. The government claims that this will increase transparency in the revenue and tax system.
