Bangladeshi-origin Sabina narrowly misses spot in MasterChef UK final
Sabina said reaching the semi-finals of MasterChef UK was an incredible opportunity for her
Bangladeshi-origin contestant Sabina Khan secured a place in the semi-finals of the globally popular cooking reality show MasterChef UK but narrowly missed out on a spot in the finals.
As she shared in a Facebook post, "This has been the most life-changing journey of my life. I have tried many things, and I am deeply grateful to have finally found what I truly want to pursue."
Sabina said reaching the semi-finals of MasterChef UK was an incredible opportunity for her.
"Do I have regrets? Of course. Perhaps I should have left out the lentils, or done a few things differently. But I know this was my moment, and I am grateful to have made it this far," she said.
She expressed gratitude towards judges Gracedent and Haughser, saying their feedback was highly constructive and helped her improve, refine her cooking and better understand technique, while pushing her to be more creative with every decision.
She added that she learned a great deal from fellow contestants, whose talent motivated her to improve further.
Sabina said, "This experience has taught me that if I work hard and learn from others, I can make anything. It might be the end of the road in this competition, but I'm just getting started."
A London-based environmental consultant, Sabina draws inspiration from her upbringing in Dhaka and her family's culinary heritage. From the quarter-finals to the semi-finals, she was known for her distinctive blend of Bangladeshi and international flavours.
This year, the 22nd season of MasterChef UK is being broadcast on BBC One and iPlayer.
The competition began with six contestants from diverse professional backgrounds, including an IT teacher, a construction company managing director and a financial advisor.
