Trust Bank's strategy for a more resilient future
A focus on technology, diversified lending, financial inclusion and disciplined risk management is helping Trust Bank build a stronger foundation for long-term value creation
Bangladesh's banking sector is entering a period of significant transformation. Customers are becoming more digitally connected, businesses are seeking faster and more flexible financial solutions, and the need for responsible and inclusive finance is becoming increasingly important. At Trust Bank, our ambition over the next five years is to strengthen our position as a technology-driven, customer-centric and sustainably growing financial institution.
We believe sustainable growth must begin with a strong foundation. In 2025, Trust Bank crossed important milestones, with deposits exceeding Tk511.12 billion and loans and advances reaching Tk404.18 billion. These achievements reflect the confidence our customers place in us and provide a strong platform from which we can continue to grow.
Our strategy is built around several priorities: accelerating digital transformation, expanding financial inclusion, strengthening SME and retail banking, maintaining asset quality and advancing sustainable finance. These priorities are closely connected. Technology allows us to serve customers more efficiently, financial inclusion broadens access to formal banking, while disciplined risk management ensures that growth remains sustainable.
What differentiates Trust Bank is not simply the range of products we offer, but the way we approach banking. We combine trusted banking relationships with disciplined risk management, service excellence and technology. Our diversified business model spans corporate, SME, retail, agriculture, remittance and digital banking, allowing us to serve customers across different stages of their financial journey.
Our performance in 2025 demonstrated the strength of this model. The bank achieved a consolidated net profit of Tk3.36 billion while deposits increased by 13.94%. At the same time, our commitment to inclusion continued to produce tangible results. Marginal Population Accounts grew by 27.46%, Trust Student Accounts increased by 21%, and women account holders exceeded 321,000, representing 24% of our total accounts.
Supporting entrepreneurs remains central to our approach. SMEs and CMSMEs are among the most important engines of employment and entrepreneurship in Bangladesh, and we want to ensure that promising businesses are not held back by limited access to finance. Trust Bank has developed a dedicated SME network with experienced relationship managers serving entrepreneurs through branches and sub-branches in urban, semi-urban and rural areas.
We offer a wide range of SME financing solutions and participate in Bangladesh Bank's refinance schemes to provide financing at competitive costs. We also facilitate collateral-free financing under Credit Guarantee Schemes for entrepreneurs with limited collateral. Our support extends to women entrepreneurs, startups, green finance and digital Nano loans.
At the same time, our lending strategy remains diversified. Corporate banking continues to be important in financing large industries and infrastructure-related businesses, but we are steadily increasing our focus on SME, CMSME, agriculture, retail and consumer banking. We also support export-oriented businesses, sustainable projects and renewable energy initiatives. A diversified portfolio allows us to support productive sectors while managing concentration and credit risks prudently.
Technology will be at the heart of this transformation. We are investing in next-generation banking platforms, artificial intelligence-enabled innovation, automation, data analytics and cybersecurity. Digital payments, QR-based solutions, fintech partnerships and process automation will help us create a banking experience that is faster, simpler and more secure.
However, digital transformation must go hand in hand with trust. As customers increasingly rely on digital channels, cybersecurity and fraud prevention become essential components of responsible banking. We are continuously strengthening our technology, monitoring systems and professional capabilities while also raising customer awareness about safe banking practices.
Sustainability is another important part of our long-term strategy. We view ESG not as an optional activity, but as a core principle of our credit and investment processes. We have strengthened our Environmental and Social Risk Management framework and established a dedicated Sustainable Finance Unit under our Credit Risk Management Division. Through products such as TRUST SHUFOLA and TRUST PRANTIK, we are supporting renewable energy, energy efficiency, pollution control, marginal farmers and grassroots entrepreneurs.
In 2025, Trust Bank crossed important milestones, with deposits exceeding Tk511.12 billion and loans and advances reaching Tk404.18 billion. These achievements reflect the confidence our customers place in us.
Ultimately, our goal is not growth for its own sake. We want to build a stronger, more resilient institution that creates lasting value for customers, shareholders and the wider economy. Bangladesh's banking sector faces challenges, from asset quality and liquidity to cybersecurity and evolving regulatory expectations. But these challenges also present an opportunity for institutions that are willing to innovate while remaining disciplined.
At Trust Bank, we will continue to focus on that balance: expanding access, embracing technology, supporting productive sectors and maintaining the standards of risk management and governance necessary for sustainable growth. We believe that is how we can strengthen trust in banking and contribute meaningfully to Bangladesh's economic progress.
