Fire at Chawkbazar market under control
Six units from Lalbagh Fire Station were initially dispatched to the scene and began efforts to contain the fire.
A fire that broke out on the third floor of an eight-storey building in Dhaka's Chawkbazar today (4 July) was brought under control after about an hour and a half.
According to the Fire Service, the blaze started at around 1:46pm at Haji Abul Bashar Super Market in Chawk Mogoltuli.
Six units from Lalbagh Fire Station were initially dispatched to the scene and began efforts to contain the fire. Later, four additional units from Siddique Bazar Fire Station joined the operation.
The fire was brought under control at 3:14pm.
No casualties have been reported so far. Fire Service officials have not yet disclosed the cause of the fire
