AB Bank supports Bangla QR launch at Bangladesh Bank Sylhet office
AB Bank PLC has facilitated the launch of "Bangla QR" at Bangladesh Bank's Sylhet office, aiming to drive the adoption of cashless transactions and digital payments for government services.
The inauguration ceremony took place today at the Bangladesh Bank Sylhet office.
The event was organised by Bangladesh Bank Karmachari Vogyanno Sorboraho and Sanchay o Rindan Somobay Samiti Limited (SIKO), with support from AB Bank PLC.
The initiative seeks to advance cashless transactions and facilitate the mandatory implementation of digital payments for government services via "Bangla QR".
President of SIKO, Dharani Kanta Das, presided over the ceremony, with the Executive Director of Bangladesh Bank, Khaled Ahmed, as the chief guest.
Director of the Sylhet Office of Bangladesh Bank Mohammad Mahmudul Hasan, Director of the Sylhet Office of Bangladesh Bank Abdus Salam Mahmud, and Regional Head of Sylhet at AB Bank Ahmed Monnun Panna attended as special guests.
Executive Director Khaled Ahmed formally inaugurated the initiative by scanning the QR code provided by AB Bank PLC.
Senior officials from both organisations were present at the event.
