Panama midfielder César Yanis is the tournament's shortest player, standing just 10 cm shorter than Lionel Messi who ranks as the 29th-shortest among the 1,248 participants. As Panama faces England on 28 June, Yanis lines up against 6 ft 7 inches defender Dan Burn; their 1.35 ft height difference surpasses the Fifa World Cup record of 1.28 ft, set by Serbia's Nikola Žigić and Ivory Coast's Bakari Koné in 2006.
