2 killed in Katabon apartment fire
Six firefighting units brought the blaze under control at 3:08am.
Two people died after a fire broke out on the 11th floor of a 14-storey residential building in the capital's Katabon area, Prothom Alo reports.
The fire service received a report of the fire at around 1:05am today (27 June). Six units brought the blaze under control at 3:08am, confirmed Rafi Al Faruk, duty officer at the fire service central control room.
The deceased were Md Joni, 25, and Md Abdus Salam, 19.

Rafi said the two victims were rescued with burn injuries and taken to hospital.
Joni was taken to the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery, while Abdus Salam was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where doctors later declared both of them dead.
The fire service said no one remains trapped inside the building and no additional casualties have been reported.
The cause of the fire could not be immediately determined.
