Southeast University Job Fair concludes
Southeast University brought its vibrant two-day Job Fair 2026 to a close on 7 May with an inspiring on-campus ceremony.
The chief guest was State Minister for Planning Zonayed Abdur Rahim Saki.
Following the opening remarks, Saki underscored the essential role of universities in safeguarding national independence and sovereignty in his address.
He asserted that universities are crucial in spreading knowledge, uniting the nation, and driving nation-building.
Turning to economic challenges, Saki cited alleged large-scale financial irregularities during the previous government, noting their adverse impact on investment, employment and GDP growth.
He insisted that national development demands a united effort across every sector to achieve real progress.
Continuing his remarks, Saki honoured the 'July warriors,' particularly four from Southeast University, expressing confidence that the joint effort will propel the nation forward.
Earlier, Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr M Mofazzal Hossain delivered welcoming remarks to open the closing session.
As the guest of honour, University Grants Commission member Professor Dr Mohammad Anwar Hossen was present.
World Bank Senior Education Specialist TM Asaduzzaman attended as special guest.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Yusuf Mahbubul Islam chaired the event.
Other attendees included Registrar Major General Anwarul Islam (retd), school deans, department heads, administrative officials, faculty, alumni and students.
In total, fifty-five multinational and leading local organisations from sectors including banking, financial services, automotive, pharmaceuticals, telecommunications, IT, healthcare, hospitality, electronics and real estate participated.
CVs were collected, on-site interviews conducted, and employment opportunities offered to qualified Southeast University graduates by participating organisations.
Alongside the recruitment activities, the event also featured seminars and specialised sessions to enhance employability skills.
University management voiced strong optimism that the fair would ignite new connections and open doors for job seekers and employers alike.
