Dhaka's foreign ties to be guided by 'Bangladesh First' policy: FM to China, US, Russia
The foreign minister hold separate meetings with Wang Yi, Sergey Lavrov and Marco Rubio on the sidelines of the ASEAN Regional Forum in Manila.
Foreign Minister Dr Khalilur Rahman today (22 July) said Bangladesh's foreign relations will be guided by the "Bangladesh First" policy as he held bilateral meetings with senior diplomats from China, Russia and the United States in Manila.
The foreign minister met Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio on the sidelines of the ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF) Foreign Ministers' Meeting in the Philippine capital.
According to a ministry press release, the meetings covered bilateral cooperation in trade, investment, energy, connectivity and regional and international issues.

During his meeting with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to advancing the Bangladesh-China comprehensive cooperative partnership and jointly building a "China-Bangladesh Community for a Shared Future."
The two ministers also discussed cooperation on the repatriation of forcibly displaced Myanmar nationals, multimodal transport connectivity, trade, investment and energy.
In a separate meeting, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov congratulated Khalilur Rahman on his election as president of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly. The two sides agreed to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the energy sector.
Rahman later met US Secretary of State Marco Rubio to discuss ways to further deepen Bangladesh-US relations. During the meeting, the foreign minister invited Rubio to visit Bangladesh.
Khalilur Rahman is leading the Bangladesh delegation to the 33rd ASEAN Regional Forum Foreign Ministers' Meeting and events marking the 50th anniversary of the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia.
