Apex Spinning to import 3 dyeing machines from China for Tk8.54cr
Publicly listed Apex Spinning & Knitting Mills, based in Gazipur's Kaliakoir, has decided to import three sets of fabric dyeing machines from China at Tk8.54 crore as part of its plan to enhance production capacity.
According to the stock exchange disclosure today (7 August), the decision was approved at a meeting of the company's Board of Directors held yesterday (6 August). The machines will be sourced from Nucleus Shanghai International Trade Limited, a Chinese supplier.
The total cost of the machinery is estimated at $695,889 (approx Tk8.54 crore). The purchase will be entirely financed by HSBC Bangladesh Limited.
However, the import decision is subject to final approval by the shareholders at the company's upcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM).
According to company sources, the new machines are expected to be installed and ready for commercial operation by the second quarter of the 2025–26 fiscal year.
The machines will be used exclusively for the company's in-house production purposes and will be installed at the company's factory located in Kaliakoir, Gazipur.
On the Dhaka Stock Exchange, the company's share price closed at Tk150.50 today.
In the July to March period of FY 2024–25, the company reported a revenue of Tk422 crore, down from Tk511.50 crore during the same period of the previous fiscal year.
Its net profit after tax stood at Tk2.53 crore, slightly up from Tk2.47 crore a year earlier.
The company's earnings per share (EPS) rose to Tk3.02, compared to Tk2.94 in the same period of the previous year. Its net asset value (NAV) per share stood at Tk62.93 as of the end of March 2025.
For FY24, the company declared a 20% cash dividend for its shareholders.
As of 30 June 2025, the sponsors and directors of the company jointly held 52.76% of the shares, institutional investors held 12.53%, foreign investors held 0.25%, and general shareholders held 34.46%.
