Southeast University welcomes Summer 2026 freshers
Southeast University welcomed newly admitted students for the Summer 2026 semester with orientation sessions on 28 and 29 June at the university's Multipurpose Hall to prepare them for academic and professional success.
The first session, held at 3pm on 28 June for students of the School of Arts and Social Sciences, featured Professor Mohammad Nurul Huda, the former director general of the Bangla Academy, as the chief guest.
The second session, held at 11am on 29 June, welcomed students from the departments of Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Textile Engineering, Architecture, and Information and Communication Technology. Raisul Kabir, co-founder and chief executive officer of Brain Station 23, attended as the chief guest.
The third session, at 3pm on the same day, welcomed newly admitted students of Southeast Business School, with Ms Fahima Akhtar, director of Masco Group and Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association, as the chief guest.
Professor Doctor Yusuf Mahbubul Islam, vice-chancellor of Southeast University, chaired the first session, while Professor Doctor M Mofazzal Hossain, pro vice-chancellor of Southeast University, chaired the second and third sessions.
Major General Md Anwarul Islam (retired), registrar of Southeast University, and the deans and department heads welcomed the new students.
In their speeches, guests and senior university officials urged students to maintain punctuality, discipline and academic focus. They also emphasised self-development, knowledge and skills acquisition, and preparedness for future challenges.
Speakers encouraged students to make the most of their academic journey at Southeast University's permanent campus in Tejgaon and build a successful, meaningful university life.
