ONE Bank signs Bangladesh Bank deals to expand CMSME financing
ONE Bank PLC has entered into two significant agreements with Bangladesh Bank to broaden access to affordable financing for cottage, micro, small and medium enterprises (CMSMEs) and cluster-based industries nationwide.
The agreements fall under Bangladesh Bank's Tk3,000 crore Cluster Financing Scheme and Tk1,500 crore Financial Sector Fund for the Development of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (FSFDMSME).
These initiatives are intended to foster entrepreneurship, enhance financial inclusion, and support the expansion of cluster-based industries and CMSMEs throughout Bangladesh.
Nurun Nahar, Deputy Governor of Bangladesh Bank, attended the agreement signing ceremony as chief guest.
Nawshad Mustafa, Director, SME and Special Programmes Department (SMESPD), Bangladesh Bank, and Kazi Ziaul Islam, Deputy Managing Director, ONE Bank PLC, signed the agreements on behalf of their respective organisations.
Other attendees included Husne Ara Shikha, Executive Director, Bangladesh Bank; Newaz Khalid Ahmed, Head of Commercial and SME Business, ONE Bank; and officials from Bangladesh Bank.
Under the schemes, eligible entrepreneurs can access financing at a concessional annual interest rate of 7 per cent, supporting affordable growth, increased productivity, and job creation.
With these strategic partnerships, ONE Bank PLC reaffirmed its commitment to empowering local entrepreneurship and driving sustainable economic growth across Bangladesh.
