Guardian Life settles Tk334cr in claims in first half of 2026
Guardian Life Insurance Limited reported a significant surge in claim settlements, disbursing Tk334.09 crore against 131,593 insurance claims in the first half of 2026—a 34.3% rise from Tk248.81 crore during the same period of the previous year.
From January to June, the insurer paid Tk175.24 crore for 23,740 death claims and Tk140.21 crore for 104,259 health insurance claims.
Additionally, Guardian Life Insurance Limited settled 3,594 policy maturity and other claims worth Tk18.65 crore.
The insurer attributed the increase in settlements to an expanding customer base, a diversified insurance portfolio, and investments in digital services, streamlined verification and expedited processing.
The company has also simplified claim procedures and strengthened customer support, aiming to make settlements more convenient and transparent for policyholders.
"Settling claims promptly is not just an operational responsibility for us; it is the most meaningful way we demonstrate the value of insurance," said Guardian Life Insurance Limited Chief Executive Officer and Fellow Chartered Accountant Sheikh Rakibul Karim.
"We are encouraged by the continued growth in our claim settlements, but, more importantly, by the confidence our customers continue to place in us," he added.

The company is expanding access to insurance through bancassurance partnerships, microinsurance products, and digital distribution channels.
Guardian Life Insurance Limited said it currently provides insurance coverage to more than 1.3 crore people in Bangladesh, serves over 550 corporate clients, and works with more than 500 hospitals to provide cashless medical services.
