"Artificial intelligence is not just a technology; it is one of the key drivers of the future economy, employment and innovation," he said.
He added that the government is prioritising artificial intelligence, research, innovation, and the development of a skilled workforce as part of its efforts to build a "New Bangladesh".
"To realise this vision, the government has undertaken initiatives to formulate a national artificial intelligence policy, foster research and innovation, strengthen the startup ecosystem and equip young people with future-ready skills," he said.
The minister said universities such as Daffodil International University can accelerate the country's technological progress by producing skilled artificial intelligence professionals, conducting impactful research and developing practical innovations.
Dr Md Sabur Khan said, "We aim to build not just an artificial intelligence-enabled university, but an artificial intelligence-native university—where artificial intelligence is intrinsic, not merely a tool. Our innovations will create effective solutions to tangible problems facing society and the state."
