Banglalink wins two ESG awards for Power app
Banglalink has received two top honours at the ESG Excellence Awards 2026 for Banglalink Power, its self-retailer app that expands digital earning opportunities.
The company was recognised in the external supply-chain collaboration and partnerships and ESG technology and digital innovation categories, according to a press release.
The ESG Institute Bangladesh and Global Compact Network Bangladesh jointly organised the awards ceremony and invited Banglalink to receive the honours at Lakeshore Hotel in Dhaka.
Launched in November 2025, Banglalink Power enables users to earn additional income by selling mobile recharges through their smartphones.
Individuals can become self-retailers without an upfront investment. The platform uses digital know-your-customer (KYC) verification, real-time commission tracking and a digital rewards system to simplify sales and earnings management.
Banglalink said the app sought to expand economic opportunities through its digital distribution network, particularly for young people, women and microentrepreneurs.
Banglalink Sales and Services Director Muhammad Mehedi Hasan said, "Banglalink Power is transforming the traditional retail model by making digital distribution more accessible to individuals across the country."
"The platform creates a flexible and scalable earning opportunity for people across Bangladesh without requiring infrastructure or upfront capital, empowering retailers to run their businesses directly from their smartphones," he said.
He added that the company was pleased to see the platform contribute to a more inclusive digital retail ecosystem.
Banglalink Power has partnered with organisations including Winrock International and Romoni to reach marginalised communities and people with limited access to formal economic channels.
The partnerships seek to help more people participate in the broader digital economy.
Banglalink Chief Corporate and Regulatory Affairs Officer Taimur Rahman said, "Digital transformation becomes truly meaningful when it creates opportunities from which people can directly benefit."
"Banglalink Power reflects our commitment to using our digital capabilities to create new pathways for income generation and social inclusion," he said.
Rahman said recognition in both the technology and partnership categories highlighted the value of combining digital innovation with cross-sector collaboration to achieve sustainable impacts.
Banglalink said the two awards reflected its commitment to using technology and strategic partnerships to promote financial inclusion, empower communities and support sustainable economic growth in Bangladesh.
