AAUB secures global achievement in CANSAT USA-2025
'TEAM ABABIL' from the Aviation and Aerospace University, Bangladesh (AAUB) has made the nation proud by securing the 16th position among 40 international finalist teams at the 20th Annual CanSat Competition, held in Virginia, USA, from June 5 to 9, 2025.
Vice Chancellor Air Vice Marshal A K M Manirul Bahar, OSP, BSP, NDC, hdmc, AFWC, PSC, and ADWC congratulated the team on this historic success.
The CanSat competition is recognized globally as a launchpad for future aerospace engineers. In this note, 'TEAM ABABIL' designed a CanSat that simulates a science payload satellite capable of surviving atmospheric descent, collecting sensor data, and executing mission objectives, such as air brake deployment and telemetry transmission, all under strict time and design constraints.

'TEAM ABABIL's outstanding performance in this highly prestigious global student design-build-launch competition placed them ahead of many teams from technologically advanced universities of the countries, i.e. USA, UK, Germany, Italy, Mexico, South Korea, Malaysia, Singapore and India. This indeed placed Bangladesh on the global map of aerospace education and student innovation. The team was led by Assistant Professor Md Samin Rahman, under the Department of Avionics Engineering at AAUB.
It is worth mentioning that GoldHill Alliance, Sincos Automation Technology Ltd, Square Informatix Ltd, MDM Traders Ltd, USA, and ZSRM provided generous support and funding for the team's participation in this international competition.
