Osman Hadi's family approves surgery in Singapore
Inqilab Mancha warned of continued protests until those responsible for the attack are arrested
The family of Sharif Osman Hadi, spokesperson of Inqilab Mancha and a potential candidate for the Dhaka-8 constituency in the upcoming national election, has given consent for his surgery to be conducted in Singapore.
In a statement posted on the official Facebook page of Inqilab Mancha today (18 December), the platform said Hadi is currently in a critical condition, describing his situation as a fight between life and death.
"Osman Hadi is standing at the brink of life and death. His family has given permission for the surgery to be carried out in Singapore," the statement read.

The statement also warned of continued protests until those responsible for the attack are arrested. It said activists would remain stationed at Shahbagh and intensify movements across the country if the suspects are not brought to justice.
"If the killers flee to India, the Indian government must be engaged to ensure their arrest and repatriation at any cost," the statement added.
Hadi was shot around 2:24pm on Friday (12 December) in the Purana Paltan area of the capital. An assailant fired at Osman Hadi from a motorcycle that had been following him from behind while he was travelling in a battery-powered rickshaw.
He was rushed to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) emergency department following the attack and taken to the operating theatre at around 3:50pm.
Later, around 7:30pm, after surgery, he was transferred to Evercare Hospital.
He was taken to Singapore on 15 December for advanced treatment.
