9 DIGs, 30 SPs transferred in police reshuffle
The notifications said the BCS police cadre officers have been transferred or posted to the positions and workplaces mentioned against their names, and the order will come into effect immediately in the public interest.
The government has transferred nine officers of deputy inspector general (DIG) rank and 30 officers of superintendent of police (SP) rank in Bangladesh Police.
The transfers were confirmed today (5 May) in orders signed by Ministry of Home Affairs Deputy Secretary Tausif Ahmed of the Police-1 Branch.
The notifications said the BCS police cadre officers have been transferred or posted to the positions and workplaces mentioned against their names, and the order will come into effect immediately in the public interest.
Earlier, on 22 April, the government sent 11 DIGs and two additional deputy inspector generals of Bangladesh Police on forced retirement, while also transferring 20 senior officials.
On 15 April, the government transferred 17 police officers holding the rank of supernumerary additional deputy inspectors general (Addl-DIGs) to new postings.
