3 held over crude bomb blasts during AL flash procession in Mohakhali

Three people were detained after leaders and activists of the banned Awami League and its affiliated organisations brought out a flash procession and detonated several crude bombs in Dhaka's Mohakhali area around 9:15am today (18 June).

Confirming the incident, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Tejgaon Industrial Area Police Station Mahbubur Rahman said a group associated with the Awami League had carried out the procession.
"They exploded four to five crude bombs during the procession. Three people have been detained in connection with the incident," the OC added.
According to eyewitnesses, a group of leaders and activists of the banned Awami League, Bangladesh Chhatra League and Jubo League gathered in front of the icddr,b building in Mohakhali around 9am. They then marched towards the bus terminal area.
Several members of Mohila League allegedly joined the procession near the terminal. During the rally, participants reportedly exploded four to five crude bombs before dispersing from the scene.
