HSC examinee, cousin fined Tk40,000 for AI-generated fake admit card in Brahmanbaria
The attempt was uncovered at an exam centre in Kasba after officials flagged irregularities and verified the document with the Cumilla Education Board
A mobile court today (2 July) fined two youths Tk40,000 after one of them was caught attempting to sit for the HSC examination with an AI-generated fake admit card at a centre in Brahmanbaria's Kasba upazila.
The incident took place at the Tofazzal Ali Degree College examination centre.
The fined individuals are Tasfia Rahman Jannat, 18, a student of Kasba Mohila Degree College, and her cousin, Inzamamul Haque, 19.

Md Tanjil Kabir, assistant commissioner (land) of Kasba upazila and executive magistrate, conducted the mobile court.
According to sources familiar with the matter, Jannat had failed her test examination but allegedly created a fake HSC admit card with the help of her cousin by using AI to alter an image of her Secondary School Certificate (SSC) admit card.
Suspicion arose shortly after the examination began when AK Azad, principal of Tofazzal Ali Degree College and centre secretary, noticed irregularities in the admit card.
He immediately informed the deputy controller of examinations of the Cumilla Education Board.
Following verification, authorities confirmed that the admit card was forged. Both individuals were subsequently detained and later produced before the mobile court.
The court fined each of them Tk20,000.
"They were released into the custody of their families after signing written undertakings, pledging not to engage in such activities in the future," said Executive Magistrate Tanjil Kabir.
