Heavy rain alert for 6 divisions; waterlogging feared in Dhaka, Chattogram
In a warning issued for 72 hours from 1pm today (5 July), the BMD said heavy (44-88mm/24 hours) to very heavy (more than 88mm/24 hours) rainfall may occur at places in Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions.
The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has warned that heavy to very heavy rainfall may occur in different parts of the country over the next 72 hours under the influence of a monsoon depression over the northwestern Bay of Bengal and adjoining north Odisha-West Bengal coast.

The Met Office said the heavy to very heavy rainfall may cause temporary waterlogging in some areas of Dhaka and Chattogram metropolitan cities.
It also warned of possible landslides at places in the hilly regions of Chattogram division.
