Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has said the United States and Israel will eventually have to accept withdrawing from the Middle East, Al Jazeera reported today (22 September).
In a statement carried by Iran's Fars news agency to mark the country's Sacred Defence Week, the IRGC said Washington and Tel Aviv must accept the region's freedom from their "vile and criminal presence".
The force said Iran's defence capabilities had broken the "flimsy dominance" of the US, Israel and their allies, and had reshaped its security arrangements.
US President Donald Trump had initially said the US and Israel's war on Iran would last a few weeks and that Iran needed to be bombed to stop it from developing nuclear weapons.
Earlier this month, the Republican leader pledged the war would end "immediately after" the 3 November 3 midterm elections, reports Reuters.
But Iran has shown no sign of giving up and in recent weeks Tehran and its allies have threatened further disruptions to oil markets.
