Nor'wester damages mobile tower, mosque in Brahmanbaria

A mobile phone network tower collapsed in a nor'wester storm in Kasba upazila of Brahmanbaria this morning (28 April), disrupting mobile and internet services.

During the storm, an electric pole was damaged in Moinpur Bazar under Kaimpur union, leaving the area without electricity, while a tree uprooted in Badair Bazar under Badair union fell on the road, halting traffic.
A tree also fell on the mosque of Kasba Upazila Health Complex, damaging part of the structure.
Kasba Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Samiul Islam said the damaged electric pole in Moinpur Bazar has been cleared and traffic has resumed, while efforts are underway to remove the fallen tree from the Badair Bazar road.
He added that various structures across the upazila were damaged in the nor'wester, and steps will be taken after assessing the losses.
Meanwhile, similar damage was reported in other parts of the district, where numerous trees were uprooted and tin-shed houses were damaged by the storm.
