The Cabinet Committee on Government Purchase has approved a proposal to buy one cargo of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Aramco Trading Singapore Pte Ltd under the government-to-government (G2G) arrangement.
The LNG will be supplied on 11-12 August at a price of $21.55 per MMBtu, according to a press release issued by the Cabinet Division today (7 August).
The approval came at the eighth meeting of the Cabinet Committee for FY27, held virtually and chaired by Finance Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury.
The committee approved the proposal for the short-term direct purchase of one LNG cargo from Aramco Trading Singapore under the G2G framework.
Meanwhile, a separate proposal to procure LNG from Gunvor USA LLC through a long-term direct purchase arrangement covering the 2026-2038 period was not considered at the meeting.
