EC declares NCP leader Nusrat Tabassum’s nomination valid for reserved women’s seat polls
The court later directed the Election Commission to accept her nomination paper and take further legal steps in accordance with the law.
The Election Commission (EC) has declared the nomination of Nusrat Tabassum, joint convener of the National Citizen Party (NCP), valid for the reserved women's seat polls in the 13th Parliament.
Returning Officer Md Moin Uddin Khan shared the information with reporters at Nirbachan Bhaban following the scrutiny of the nomination paper of the candidate from the Jamaat-e-Islami-led alliance.
Earlier, the returning officer had refused to accept the nomination paper as Nusrat submitted it after the 4pm deadline on 21 April. She later moved the court.
The court later directed the Election Commission to accept her nomination paper and take further legal steps in accordance with the law.
