Over 100 detained in Mirpur bar, hotel raid
The drive was conducted at SK Bar, located in Bagdad Market, and an adjacent residential hotel
Police detained more than 100 individuals during a raid on a bar and a residential hotel in the capital's Mirpur-1 area last night (5 April).
The drive was conducted at SK Bar, located in Bagdad Market, and an adjacent residential hotel, Dhaka Metropolitan Police Deputy Commissioner (Mirpur Division) SAM Fazle-e-Khuda told The Business Standard.
According to police, locals had long been complaining about "anti-social activities" being carried out at these establishments. Acting on these allegations, a joint team comprising personnel from several police stations under the DMP's Mirpur Division launched the operation.
The detainees were initially taken to Mirpur Model Police Station following the raid. They were later turned over to Shah Ali Police Station for further legal proceedings.
